Data Science Tools and Financial Reporting in Nigeria
Adoption of data science tools in Nigeria faces several challenges, including inadequate technological infrastructure, limited technical expertise, data governance issues, and cybersecurity risks. This paper evaluates the effect ?f data science tools ?n financial rep?rting in Nigeria. Data visualizati?n and cl?ud acc?unting were used t? pr?xy data science tools Survey research design was ad?pted thr?ugh a well structured questi?nnaire; cluster rand?m sampling was ?bserved. Frequencies and percentages were used f?r the descriptive analysis while multiple regressi?n analysis was ad?pted f?r the test ?f hyp?theses. The study findings sh?w that data visualizati?n has a p?sitive and significant effect with p value (0.049) and c?efficient ?f 0.187; while cl?ud acc?unting has negative and statistically insignificant effect ?n financial rep?rting quality with p value (0.074) and c?efficient ?f 0.095. The paper c?ncludes that data visualization and cloud accounting together have a meaningful influence on the quality of financial reporting. The paper rec?mmends that organizations should prioritize the adoption and effective use of data visualization tools to enhance clarity and usefulness of financial reports; strengthen the implementation of cloud accounting systems through proper training, system integration, and user support for a more efficient and transparent reporting system.
